Dogs In The Arts, Literature and More

Dogs In The Arts, Literature and more.

Dogs have been immortalised, as individuals or as a species, in most popular forms of art and entertainment. They have been painted, sang about, written about, animated, carved, sculptured and more. They've been main characters, off siders and extras. They've been heroes and they've been the bad guys. They've mad us laugh, they've made us cheer and they've made us cry.

Even in everyday speech, the dog often gets a reference, although not always in a flattering way. In the criminal underworld for instance, a dog is supposedly the lowest of the low, someone who will give up others. I suppose that just shows their collective mentality, given that you will go a long way to find a human that will be a more faithful, loyal and unquestioning companion. I reckon if dogs could speak the way we do, perhaps the term human would be used as a derogatory term in their world.

Here you will find just some of the countless examples of dogs in the arts, literature and more.
