Case Studies

"There is more than one way to skin a cat", as the old saying goes, probably not real popular with cat lovers though.

While some of us use our knowledge of dog listening to help dogs by sharing our knowedge with other people, some use it directly with dogs in need.

For instance, by fostering dogs while they are waiting to rehomed, Glynis Nott, is taking a truly hands on approach. She provides these dogs with a stress free environment and strong leadership, enabling them to actally relax for once in their life.

The flip side to this is the disruption to her own circumstances this has initially. As the foster dog setlles in and their true personality starts to shine through, it would be impossible not to start bonding with these dogs.

Take in a dog in need, get them right, and then have to part ways - a truly selfless act. Of couse this means that providing the new home does the right thing by their new furry friend, Glynis has made a huge difference to the world of one of man's best friends... and then can do it over again.

"Parting is such sweet sorrow"

  • Kato  ( 26 items )

    Rough background on Kato:

7 yr old Maltese x Shih Tzu.

Living in the laundry with his mama and dad dog. Doesn't get out much. Owner has moved back home with parents with him and works 6 days a week and has not enough time to spend with him (hence the laundry time).

He is food aggressive, sleep aggressive(!!) and has snapped at people trying to pat him, and very protective of owner.

Owner is heartbroken but knows that he needs a new home where he can have more quality time. Owner just Twittered that she was having a last cuddle with him last night on the couch, and all he seemed interested in was going back to his pack in the laundry. Their bond is no longer that strong.

(this case study is a transcript being transferred from a forum, on another domain of mine, on which it was originaly posted, so dont  think from the dates that the story is incomplete, the rest is comming soon)
